VJ artist and workshop:
• Ontwerpatelier&DesignArbeid (John Patrick Nijkamp and Ruben Abels)
VJ workshops – Most interesting option for John Patrick Nijkamp and Ruben Abels as artists and local artists from Sibiu would be to create workshops. A small group of local professionals or artists and John Patrick Nijkamp and Ruben Abels can work on new material for a show during a week. They can introduce them to the possibilities of VJ-ing as a medium of expressing artisticity. They can create new material together, react to eachother, cooperate and work with eachother’s ideas. The workshop can then result in a (series of) performance(s) from Ontwerpatelier&DesignArbeid and the local artists, best of all with a DJ set.

C3 Art project (Connecting cultural capitals):
• C3 Art project (Connecting Cultural Capitals) by Sebiha Demir, Bart Folmer and Patrick Mangnus
The three initiators are Sebiha Demir, Bart Folmer and Patrick Mangnus, all three live and work in Deventer, the Netherlands. The idea to set up this project came from the enthusiasm and appreciation of eacht others work. Besides other projects, they have put up a long-term and intensive project in where artists of different disciplines will meet and work together in forthcoming projects.
Sebiha Demir is a visual artist (sculpting, painting and drawing). Her work is two- and three-dimensional and besides that she has multi-media projects. In her two-dimensional work she mainly uses a technique called aribrush. Bart Folmer is a graphic designer, musician, dj, vj and visual artist. He focuses mainly on multi-media, graphic assignments, free graphic work, websites and audio art. Patrick Mangnus is a visual artist and musician. Originally a graphic designer, but all the traditional techniques are mixed with drawing, painting and graffiti. Patrick has already done quite a few co-operation projects together with other artists. He also makes installations.
The idea of the project is that within ten days in Sibiu, a trans-national artistic multi-media co-operation project will arise. The three initiators will each search for typical characteristics of the culture of Sibiu. Working from their own disciplines, they will be inspired and use this in forthcoming projects, where they will work together and react on each others work. There will be a presentation of these works. It could happen that one artist makes a painting and an other will draw in it and yet an other will use his light techniques to show another side . In every cultural capital about fifteen local artists will be approached to participate in these projects, contribute, respond and to invoke discussions about culture and it’s identities. From these artists five will be selected to join the next project in a different cultural capital, every time. The project will grow and the diversity between the cities and their cultures will show. But most important: the connection between the cities will grow stronger.
Goals
• Research on the cultural identity of the cities
• Build an international network of artists and other interested
• Invoke discussions about cultural identities and point out the relations between the European cultural capitals
• Promoting cross-overs between the different discplines and unique co-operation projects
